What is my D-U-N-S number and how do I by-pass this?
This is a number assigned to your business if you have applied for one. The Data Universal Numbering System, abbreviated as DUNS or D-U-N-S, is a proprietary system developed and regulated by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) that assigns a unique numeric identifier, referred to as a "DUNS number" to a single business entity. It was introduced in 1963 to support D&B's credit reporting practice.
To bypass this please do the following:
Place your tax country in the box under DUNS, this will unlock the two boxes (UTR /VAT) below which may or may not display a description. These boxes if you know the details can be completed with them, or use the time and date in a series of numbers: for example 11:28 on the 31st of January would be 112831012018 – this should create a unique code for you to progress.
Why do I need modern slavery documents?
The Modern Slavery Act 2015 is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It is designed to tackle slavery in the UK and consolidates previous offences relating to trafficking and slavery. The act extends to England and Wales. The RFU legally have to ask questions as we have a turnover budget allocation of £33.5 million. Every supplier will be required to complete our forms, or provide their own version to prevent modern slavery.
The system states I have no active address and will not let me submit, what do I do?
When adding your contact details please make sure a tick is placed in each of the boxes as shown:
What happens next?
When your application is successful you will get notification from the system. It states you will get a user name and password. We cannot change this as it is system generated, and we do not use a supplier login system so no further system emails will be sent.
At times we will request more information within 48 hours. This is sent through a system email which may go to your junk folder. 80% of these requests are failures to attach the 3 documents.
